Single Carrot Theatre

ysd_icons.png

This case follows the inception and early growth of a small theater company in Baltimore, Single Carrot Theatre (SCT). The company faces difficulties of staff burnout, since its artistic company members are also the organization’s administrators and work full-time jobs elsewhere, as only the executive director is on SCT’s payroll. At the same time, the company’s mission puts constraints on its ability to increase ticket prices in order to bring in more revenue for payroll. The company must decide how to ensure its future growth, especially with its company members being drawn to other full-time employment opportunities.
