Non-Yale faculty may also request free access for preview purposes by writing us at case[dot]access[at]yale.edu. They may also purchase our cases through the directory.

How do I purchase Yale cases?
From our case directory, select a case and click on the Add to Cart button. If you are a first-time buyer, you will eventually be prompted to create an account with our store; if you are a return customer, you will be prompted to login to your account. Follow the onscreen instructions. You will have immediate access to your purchased case by clicking the linked case title in your receipt.
To review your purchases, make sure you're logged in to your account and navigate to My profile > Purchase history in the top menubar.
I am non-Yale instructor: How do I purchase a case for my class?
To order multiple seats for a class or any other use, the purchaser should specify the number of licenses they require during the purchase process using the quantity indicator in the shopping cart (Note: For any number between 6-9 licenses, it is cheaper to specify 10 licenses as the 50% discount kicks in at that point). Once the sale goes through, the purchaser should go to their “My Purchases” page (found under “My profile”). The case will displayed with the number of remaining seat licenses available. In gray box below the name of the case, there will also be a redemption code.
Purchasers should copy the redemption code and either post it to their syllabus or send it by email to their students with the following instructions: 1. Go to https://cases.som.yale.edu. In the top line there is a button to “register”. Students can use this button to create a free account.
2. Once they are registered and have activated their account, students should place the redemption code into their browser’s address bar and click return.
3. The case will then automatically be placed in the student’s “My Cases” page (under their profile). Students than can click on the link for the case and begin reading and utilizing the material.
For cases that are free with registration, purchasers need not buy licenses. From within their accounts, students can add such cases to their “My Cases” page without charge.
I want to purchase multuiple copies of a case. Do you offer any discounts?
Anyone who purchases 10 or more cases in a single order will automatically get 50% off the retail price.
We also offer the Yale Stock Trading Game at a discounted price of $10/seat for verified educators with further discounts applied by volume.
How long does my access to a purchased case last?
All cooked and raw cases are available for nine (9) months after purchase.
How do I purchase the Yale Stock Trading Game?
You can purchase the game by the seat, but this is not a single-player game. As the game's market is made up exclusively of trades between players, we recommend having at least twenty (20) players for a dynamic experience.
For more info and to order, visit our game page.
Once you've purchased the game, you will be prompted to contact us to set your games up.
What is your return policy?
All sales are final.

Non-Yale Users
Faculty, instructors, students, and others
I'm a non-Yale instructor preparing a course: Can I preview Yale cases?
Yes, we are happy to make our entire case collection available to verified educators free of charge. Simply provide us with your credentials and we will set up your account.
Can I access Yale case studies through my institution?
If your institution subscribes to SAGE Business Cases, you can access many of our raw and cooked cases by visiting http://sk.sagepub.com/cases.
Do you offer an educational discount?
All of our customers can benefit from our volume discount of 50% off an order of 10 or more items when purchasing our case studies, but we do not offer specific educational pricing.
We do offer the Yale Stock Trading Game, though, at a discounted price of $10/seat for verified educators -- with further discounts applied by volume.
Are there teaching notes for Yale cases?
Yes, some of our cooked cases have teaching notes.
Because raw cases integrate many different domains and themes within a single case, as many as six or seven different lesson plans may be possible. Indeed, raw cases can be used across multiple disciplines (e.g., as part of an Engineering or Management program).
Due to this complexity, our raw cases do not yet include teaching notes.
I’m teaching a raw case, are there any resources available to help me prepare?
Yes, please visit our Educator Resources page on the main SOM website for suggestions on how to get started.
Interested faculty may also email us for a consultation.
I am neither an educator nor affiliated with Yale, how do I gain access?
We encourage you to browse and purchase cases through our case directory (more info on purchasing below).
Our cases have been used to support a variety of learning initiatives, including executive education programs, consulting, and corporate development projects. Cases are also excellent resources for lifelong learners. Contact case.access at yale.edu for individualized recommendations.
Do you have any freely available cases?
We have two kinds of freely available cases: cases that are "Free with Registration" and those that are "Open to the Web." The former are available at no cost to users who register an account with our store; the latter, are directly available to all users on the web.
Like all of our cases, both types are available through our directory.
